Happy Snout Hippo PDF Sewing Pattern (38 cm / 15")

Happy Snout the Hippo is part of the EFI Wetfoot Friends collection — a cheerful, cuddly soft toy designed for play, comfort, and imaginative adventures.

This digital sewing pattern allows you to make a 38 cm (15”) hippo, perfectly sized for children:
big enough for hugs, light enough to carry around, and ideal for dressing and undressing.

All parts of the toy are fully sewn in, making Happy Snout safe, durable, and suitable for everyday play.

About the Design

Happy Snout Hippo looks wonderful on its own, especially when sewn from beautiful textured or natural fabrics.
You can personalise your hippo with small details such as bows, ribbons, or a simple collar.

This pattern includes the hippo toy only, but clothing and accessories for the EFI Wetfoot Friends collection are being added over time.

To get you started, free clothing patterns (basic top, trousers, and a lifeguard-style life ring) are available on my website and accompanied by video tutorials on my YouTube channel.

Any clothing pattern labelled “Size: EFI Wetfoot Friends” will fit the Hippo.

Skill Level

This pattern is designed to be accessible and enjoyable if you have basic sewing knowledge.

You’ll need to be comfortable with:

• Sewing straight stitches on a sewing machine

• Basic hand sewing and ladder stitch (to close the stuffing opening)

• Making a French knot for the eyes (or finishing the eyes using your preferred method)

A basic domestic sewing machine and standard sewing tools are sufficient.

Recommended Fabrics

• Medium-weight fabrics such as linen, cotton, or corduroy

• Faux fur or plush fabrics can also be used if you’re experienced with thicker materials and suitable equipment
